It may take a few games this winter for Ball State fans to completely familiarize themselves with the Cardinals’ new-look roster. But while more is unknown this go-around than any recent year in head coach James Whitford’s tenure, one thing is certain; there is no shortage of talent. Gone to professional careers overseas are familiar All-MAC players Tayler Persons and Trey Moses. New to the mix are a trio of freshmen, headlined by Indiana Mr. Basketball finalist Luke Bumbalough, and three players who have already been in Muncie for a year. Ball State opens the new season Nov. 5 and features a five-game homestand in the middle of the non-conference schedule. The Cardinals visit Hawaii for ESPN’s Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic the week of Christmas before returning home to start MAC play in January.
