Champions Final Shot

The sixth edition of the State Farm Champions Classic is in the books, as #2 Kentucky and #7 Kansas walked out of  Madison Square Garden with victories in front of a sold-out crowd.

In the first game of the night, Kentucky rolled over Michigan State behind two 20 point performers. Freshman guard Malik Monk led the way with 23 points, closely followed by sophomore Isiah Briscoe with 21. The Wildcats had an 8 point lead at the half and never looked back, winning by a score of 69-48.

In the nightcap, Kansas upset Duke after Frank Mason III hit the go-ahead jumper with less than 2 seconds remaining. Mason led all Jayhawks scorers with 21 points in a game that saw stars for both teams get in foul trouble. Duke had a 5 point halftime advantage, but Kansas built a lead as large as 12 in the 2nd half before Duke rallied.
