Event Overview

ESPN Events in partnership with top esports publishers hosted the inaugural ESPN Collegiate Esports Championship (CEC) in Houston from May-12. The live LAN (local area network) event featured the collegiate championships in Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, StarCraft II, and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. Scholarships were awarded to the winning teams’ institutions.

The event was part of Comicpalooza, Texas’ Largest Pop Culture Festival.

The Games

Overwatch, Street Fighter V, Hearthstone, StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm are five games that were featured in the inaugural event.
