Field set for 2016 Puerto Rico Tip-Off

Even though we still have three days of exciting basketball action ahead in this year’s Puerto Rico Tip-Off, it is not too early to begin thinking about next year’s event, as the field for the 2016 PRTO2016 was announced today.

Next year’s tournament will consist of Arizona State, Clemson, Davidson, Missouri, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma, Tulane and Xavier. Oklahoma is ranked No. 8 in the current Associated Press poll, while Xavier is receiving votes.

The field for the 10th annual PRTO will include four teams that made last season’s NCAA Championship. Oklahoma and Xavier both advanced to the Sweet 16, Northern Iowa made it as far as the third round and Davidson was a second-round participant. In addition, Arizona State earned an NIT postseason berth.

Additional information about the 2016 tournament, including travel packages, can be found on the Puerto Rico Tip-Off website.
