The Mountaineers will be led by Ronshad Shabazz and Griffin Kinney as the pair started all 30 games last season and finished as the team's top two scorers. A 6-5 junior guard, Shabazz averaged 16.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contests last season. A 6-8 senior forward, Kinney averaged 9.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Senior 6-7 guard Chandler Hutchison (17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game) leads the Broncos. Hutchison, who arrived at Boise State as the highest-ranked recruit in school history, was an All-Mountain West performer last season. Supporting Hutchison will be sophomore guards Justinian Jessup (7.4 points), Alex Hobbs (4.5) and Marcus Dickinson (3.3), and the junior inside trio of Zach Haney (5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds), David Wacker (4.9, 4.2) and Robin Jorch (2.3, 1.8).
Illinois State returns one starter from last season's regular-season Missouri Valley championship team - 6-9 junior Phil Fayne, who averaged 9.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Junior guard Keyshawn Evans was the Redbird’s most improved player last season as he played in all 35 games last season and averaged 5.8 points and 2.0 assists per contest.
The Cyclones enter a rebuilding season after advancing to the last five NCAA tournaments. Senior Donovan Jackson is Iowa State’s top returnee after playing off the bench last season. A 6-2 guard, Jackson averaged 6.4 points and 1.2 assists in his 16.8 minutes per game. Sophomore 6-8 forward Solomon Young, who started 12 games last season, averaged, 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds a game while shooting 64.3 percent from the field (54 of 84).
Junior 6-9 forward Chris Silva is the top returning scorer (10.2) and rebounder (6.1) with five double-doubles last season, including 13 points and 13 rebounds in "Final Four" match-up against Gonzaga. Sophomore 6-10 forward Maik Kotsar averaged 5.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during his freshman season while 6-2 junior guard Hassani Gravett is the top returning play-maker (1.4 assists per game) while scoring 3.2 points per contests last season.
Junior Etou, a 6-8 senior guard, is the top returning Golden Hurricane after leading Tulsa in scoring (12.6) and rebounding (6.7) last season. The back-court trio of senior Jaleel Wheeler (9.3), junior Sterling Taplin (9.2) and senior Corey Henderson, Jr. (8.7) have combined to score 27.2 points a game las season. Sophomore 6-8 forward Martins Igbanu also returns after averaging 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds a game for the Golden Hurricanes in 2017.
Seniors 6-3 guard Omega Harris and 7-1 center Matt Willms are the top returning Miners by scoring 17.0 and 11.0 points per game, respectively, last season. Sophomore forward 6-8 Paul Thomas is the team’s top returning rebounder at 6.1 per game with Willms second at 5.5 caroms per contest. Willms also shot over 59 percent from the floor.
All-Mid-American Conference performer Thomas Wilder returns as the 6-3 senior guard was Western Michigan's top scorer last season by averaging 19.3 points per game while dishing out 3.6 assists a contest and making over 43 percent of his three-point attempts. Sophomores 6-6 guard/forward Reggie Jones, a first-team All-MAC pick last season, and 6-10 Brandon Johnson also return. Jones averaged 9.4 points a game last year while Johnson posted 8.0 points and 5.5 rebound norms.
