The MEAC/SWAC Challenge presented by Disney, held annually on Labor Day weekend in Orlando, Florida, is offering football fans the opportunity to purchase specially priced ticket packages – including admission to Walt Disney World Theme Parks – for the 2015 MEAC/SWAC Challenge. Now in its eleventh year, the game, which will feature the South Carolina State University Bulldogs of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET Sunday, Sept. 6, at the newly renovated Orlando Citrus Bowl and will be televised live on ESPN.
The family-friendly game is a weekend-long affair in Orlando, Florida, the world’s premier destination for fun, centered at Orlando Citrus Bowl and the Walt Disney World Resort, where the teams and their fans enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks. In the days leading up to the game, Walt Disney World Resort will host the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge Legends Reception at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, as well as a band showcase at the Magic Kingdom® Park. Game-day festivities at the Orlando Citrus Bowl include the Great Heart & Soul Tailgate, an alumni meet-up and a pep rally including the bands and cheerleaders.
On Fan Day, students, alumni, family and fans should plan to arrive by 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom® Park, for the band showcase that will feature South Carolina State’s Marching 101 and UAPB’s Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South, affectionately nicknamed M4. Part of the Magic Kingdom’s daily Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at 3 p.m., the event also will feature the cheer and dance teams from both universities. To join the fun at the Magic Kingdom, theme park admission is required. Single-park tickets, which allow entrance after 2 p.m., are available at $79 each (limit, 4), along with Walt Disney World Park Hopper passes, which allow access to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, for $129 (limit, 6).
