The College Basketball Awards Presented by Wendy’s to Host Inaugural Fan Jam Event


Hall of Fame Legends and Wooden Award Finalists will interact with Youth Basketball Teams and Spectators at L.A. LIVE on April 7

What: Prior to eight of college basketball’s most prestigious awards being handed out Friday, April 7, during The College Basketball Awards Presented by Wendy’s (8 p.m. ET on ESPN2), the inaugural Fan Jam festival will take place at the L.A. LIVE plaza in downtown Los Angeles beginning at noon PT.

The afternoon will be jam packed with entertainment and fan participation opportunities as well as the presentation of the high school Wooden Award to Southern California’s top eight high school boys and girls.  Local youth basketball teams will interact with Wooden Award finalists, Hall of Fame legends and top college players, as they compete in a shoot-out competition.

Slam dunk shows, drumline, college cheer and dance team performances, along with Shoot and Win Contests presented by Wendy’s will take place for spectators and fans. Participants will have the chance to win prizes, including tickets to The College Basketball Awards Presented by Wendy’s, which take place later that evening at The Novo by Microsoft at L.A. Live at 5 p.m. PT.

Who: Hall of Famers Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius Erving and Karl Malone, Wooden Award finalists, top college players and coaches as well as High School Wooden Award winners will be in attendance.
