Brackets Revealed for 2024 ESPN Events Invitational and NIT Season Tip-Off at Walt Disney World Resort

The brackets for the 2024 ESPN Events Invitational and NIT Season Tip-Off were revealed today. The two four-team tournaments will be held at Walt Disney World Resort Thanksgiving weekend – Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29 – at State Farm Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Fla. All games will be televised live on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The ESPN Events Invitational features Florida, Minnesota, Wake Forest and Wichita State.

Match-up Highlights

  • Florida (SEC) has a 7-6 series advantage over Wake Forest (ACC), though the Demon Deacons won the most recent match-up at home in last season’s ACC/SEC Challenge. Wake used a 50-point second half to pull away from the Gators, 82-71, on Nov. 29, 2023 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
  • Minnesota (Big Ten) has not faced Wichita State (American Athletic) since Jan. 2, 1988. The Shockers have won three of four all-time meetings between the schools.

The NIT Season Tip-Off field includes North Texas, Northern Iowa, St. Bonaventure and Utah State.

Match-up Highlights

  • Northern Iowa (Missouri Valley) and North Texas (American Athletic) have split two meetings. UNI won a 93-70 home decision on Nov. 30, 2015, and UNT got the win at home last season, 83-77 in overtime.
  • Utah State (Mountain West) has won both meetings against Bonaventure (Atlantic 10), although the schools last played on March 19, 1960 in New York.

This is the 18th year Walt Disney World has hosted the ESPN Events Invitational at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and the first time the NIT Season Tip-Off has been held at the site. All the games will once again be played at State Farm Field House a venue that has been the site of world-class basketball competitions including NBA games and elite youth tournaments.

Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster. All tickets will be single session, with each session consisting of two back-to-back games. Fans can receive up to $10 off by using the code “MAGIC” by Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center is the official tournament host property, offering fan packages which will be available this summer. Experience Kissimmee, the official tourism authority of Osceola County, is also offering discounted rates at nearby hotels. Both will be able to be found in the travel section of the event website.
