AdvoCare Named Title Sponsor of Former Orlando Classic

AdvoCare has been named the title sponsor of the former Orlando Classic, an early-season destination basketball tournament, owned and operated by ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN. The 2015 AdvoCare Invitational will be played on Thanksgiving weekend, Thursday, Nov. 26, Friday, Nov. 27, and Sunday, Nov. 29, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex’s HP Fieldhouse, at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. The tournament features eight teams playing 12 games through three days in bracket format, with each team competing in one game per day. The two teams that remain undefeated will face off in a championship game on the final day of competition.

The field for the 2015 AdvoCare Invitational, celebrating its 10th anniversary, includes Alabama, Dayton, Iowa, Monmouth, Notre Dame, Southern California, Wichita State and Xavier. Each of the tournament’s 12 games will be televised live on ESPN networks.

“Adding AdvoCare as the new title sponsor only strengthens our Orlando event,” said Clint Overby, senior director of events, ESPN Events. “In the 10-year history of the AdvoCare Invitational at ESPN Wide World of Sports, we have seen some great basketball, and look forward to the next phase of our tournament.”

“AdvoCare is focused on physical wellness and brand awareness,” said Richard Wright, president and chief executive officer of AdvoCare. “The sponsorship of the AdvoCare Invitational is a great example of how AdvoCare continues to build champions in sports across the nation.”

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) will serve as the event’s sponsoring conference.

General admission tickets to the AdvoCare Invitational will go on sale in late summer or early fall. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the ESPN Wide World of Sports box office. For more information, visit AdvoCareInvitational.com.
