Boise State wins MBI finale over cold-shooting Colorado 68-55
CONWAY, S.C. (Nov. 20, 2022) – The Boise State Broncos began play in the Myrtle Beach Invitational by scoring only 11 points in the first half of their first game. They then turned around and won their next two games, closing the tournament Sunday night with a 68-55 victory over Colorado.
Boise State (3-2) used an early 10-2 run to take the lead for good, building a 19-10 advantage less than eight minutes into the game. Colorado got as close as three points late in the first half, but the Broncos’ lead hovered around 10 points for most of the second half.
Boise State guard Marcus Shaver Jr. picked up a double-double in the game, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Tyson Degenhart added 14 points and seven boards.
KJ Simpson was the only player to score in double figures for Colorado, finishing with 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting. In the second half, the Buffaloes were 8-of-30 from the field (26.7 percent) and 1-of-10 from 3-point range.
The game continued Colorado’s up-and-down season so far. The Buffaloes (3-3) have followed each of their three victories with a loss.
