What is the history of the Stan Sheriff Center?

The Stan Sheriff Center opened in 1994 and is named after former University of Hawai‘i athletics director Stan Sheriff, who lobbied for its construction. The facility now named the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center has served as the home of the University of Hawai‘i men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. The SSC seats 10,300, making it one of the largest facilities in the Big West Conference. The Stan Sheriff Center also plays host to many non-UH events as well.

There are no specific area/fan section for any teams. Sessions 1 and 3 are General Admission seating, allowing fans of the schools to sit next to each other on a first come first serve basis. All other sessions are Reserved Sessions, with assigned seats.
