The two early-season events showcase top college basketball programs on ESPN and will highlight Jimmy V Week, a week-long initiative across multiple ESPN platforms and programs featuring special content to help raise funds for cancer research.

Jimmy V Men’s Classic

The 2022 doubleheader will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Matchups will be Duke vs. Iowa and Illinois vs. Texas. Game times will be announced this summer.

Jimmy V Women’s Classic

The 2022 games will be played on college campuses on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The matchups will be UConn at Notre Dame and Virginia Tech at Tennessee.

The V Foundation

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach and ESPN commentator. The V Foundation has funded more than $260 million in cancer research grants nationwide. Event proceeds benefit cancer research funded by the V Foundation.
