BAYLOR, FLORIDA, PITT AND OREGON STATE HEADLINE 2023 NIT SEASON TIP-OFF ON NOV. 22 AND 24 AT BARCLAYS CENTER
BROOKLYN (May 11, 2023) – The NIT Season Tip-Off will return to Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Wed., Nov. 22 and Fri., Nov. 24. This year’s field will include the Baylor Bears of the Big 12, Florida Gators of the Southeastern Conference, Pittsburgh Panthers of the ACC and Oregon State Beavers of the Pac 12.
The tournament bracket and schedule will be announced in the coming months. Tickets are not yet on sale, but fans can secure first access to the best seats and discount offers by signing-up for the official pre-sale at nitseasontipoff.com. Matchups, times and ESPN platform designations for will be announced at a later date
The 2023 NIT Season Tip-Off field features:
- The 2021 National Champion Baylor Bears led by head coach Scott Drew. The Bears look to retool their roster after losing Jeremy Sochan and Kendall Brown to the NBA Draft. They enter the 2023 season ranked at No. 16 in ESPN’s latest “Way-Too Early Top 25” and will feature 3 ESPN 100 incoming players in Ja’Kobe Walter, Miro Little, Yves Missi, along with VCU transfer Jayden Nunn
- Pitt earned a berth in the 2023 NCAA Tournament after finishing tied for third place in the ACC – the school’s highest finish since moving to the conference in 2013-14.
- Todd Golden enters his second season as head coach, after leading the Florida Gators to a postseason berth, along with multiple top 25 wins. Golden looks to build on his first-year success and has put an emphasis on the transfer portal. The Gators will bring in four experienced players from the portal, in addition to freshman Australian big man Alex Condon.
- Oregon State’s Wayne Tinkle enters his 10th year with Beavers and most recently advanced to the 2021 Elite Eight. Tinkle coached one of the youngest teams in the nation in 2022-23 and will looking to continue to develop the roster going into the 2023- 24 season.
The NIT Season Tip-Off has been played in New York City since 1985 and this fall marks the seventh time the tournament will be held at Barclays Center.
